WWE Battle of the Brands: Raw vs. SmackDown - Best Show of the Week (May 21-22, 2018)

Image
Welcome to another edition of Battle of the Brands from Smark Out Moment, where we compare this week's episodes of Raw and SmackDown and determine which one of the two was the better show. WWE Monday Night Raw - May 21, 2018 - Times Union Center in Albany, NY WWE SmackDown - May 22, 2018 DCU Center in Worcester, MA BATTLE OF THE BRANDS: RAW vs. SMACKDOWN FACTOR 1: CROWD Neither show was over-the-top great, and that means neither crowd was either. When the matches were good, which Raw had a few, the Raw crowd was into it. For that, they get the win here. WINNER: Raw FACTOR 2: COMMENTARY I am struggling more and more to see any distinct differences in these commentary teams. You can tell they have outlines as commentators since both shows sound so similar. If I am goin strictly off personnel, it's Raw. WINNER: Raw FACTOR 3: MATCHES The only important matches on SD Live were Lana beating Billy Kay for a spot at the MitB.. Yes, Lana is in a ladder match.. The Good Brothers got

Welcome to another edition of WOMEN'S WRESTLING WEEKLYa rundown of the events which have transpired in the world of women's professional wrestling over the past several days not just with the Superstars on WWE programming, but with Impact Wrestling's Knockouts, Lucha Underground's luchadoras, and even a glimpse at the women on the independent circuit. Money in the Bank is fast approaching, and there is certainly a lot to discuss! Unfortunately, Impact was devoid of any matches to discuss, but WWE certainly gave us a lot to talk about, so let's dive right in! WWE Monday Night Raw Alexa Bliss vs. Ember Moon Hey guys, if any of you were worried about the strength of Alexa Bliss and Mickie James' friendship after last week, I have some good news for you: none of that mattered! James and Bliss are just fine after last week's complexities. James was right there to provide some useful distractions early on in the match that allowed Bliss to take control early on.

WWE Power Rankings Top 25 Superstars This Week: #195: Braun Strowman Cracks His Way Back Into Top 2

Image
Welcome to another edition of POWER RANKINGS from Smark Out Moment! Each week, we will break down the current roster and examine who has gone up the WWE hierarchy and who has unfortunately taken a step down the ladder. Factoring in things such as wins and losses, suspensions, injuries, making a name for one's self, being humiliated, and more, who is at the top of the food chain and who needs to make up some ground next week? Here is the key code for the rankings shorthand when referencing their position in relation to the previous week: NR = Not included in last week's rankings at all + Green = the number of moves up in the rankings compared to last week - Red = the number of moves down in the rankings compared to last week Honorable Mentions = five superstars who just barely missed the cut 25. LARS SULLIVAN [ NR   FIRST TIME RANKED ] Lars was in a handicap match against both Dream and Ricochet. After team turmoil, Lars scored a victory on his path to Alesiter Black. 24.

Cheap Pop & Cheap Heat of the Week in Wrestling #210

Image
Welcome to another edition of Cheap Pop and Cheap Heat from Smark Out Moment! Each week, we break down the world of professional wrestling and examine two of the polar opposite ends of the spectrum: one thing that was by far the worst thing (Cheap Heat) and the best thing (Cheap Pop) to happen over the past 7 days in sports entertainment. So, what went down this week that we loved and hated about the business? CHEAP POP OF THE WEEK: A+ FOR THE B TEAM I am loving the push that Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel have been getting as of late. While I initially thought that all signs pointed to them joining Woken Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt, I think that this B Team gimmick is a much better place for them right now. It is hard to not get behind their hilariously over the top victory celebrations, their unbridled enthusiasm, and the feel-good factor you get from seeing the success of men who have previously been positioned as perpetual jobbers or fall-guys. Their whole story is relatable to anyone w

Money in the Bank Season Week 3 - Triple Threat POV

Image
Welcome to another edition of Triple Threat from Smark Out Moment, where three of us get together to discuss three questions based on one big topic going down in the week of professional wrestling. This week, Jonathan Maldonado, Robert DeFelice and Callum Wiggins will share their thoughts on the developing storylines in the third week of Money in the Bank season. Let's discuss... Question 1: Seth Rollins continued his hot run picking up the win in his tag match with Roman Reigns on Raw. The Intercontinental Champion is still without a clear challenger for his title at Money in The Bank. Who do you see filling that void? MALDONADO: This is an interesting story for World Wrestling Entertainment to mess around with. The usual suspects are all involved in the Money in the Bank match as of now, except for Elias. With Raw already sending four superstars into the match, I imagine they keep an even split between Raw and SmackDown. That means the final spot to be determined will go to an S

Here are your submissions for this month: Sent in from Ben W Question: "Is it fair to say Sasha Banks is the best in ring performer of any of the women on any roster in WWE today? I mean she's literally given, Asuka, Charlotte, Bayley, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Alicia Fox, Nia Jax, Sonya Deville, Paige & even fucking Ruby Riott the best matches of their careers!" Answer: Banks is certainly in the running, if not at the top. I think Flair might have surpassed her, but if not Flair, I think I'd go with Banks. Question: "Who do you think WWE will choose as the cover star for WWE 2K19?&qu
